Photos Sell Property

Data show that marketing materials using photographs help decrease the amount of time a property remains on the market. Photos are the first impression buyers get when viewing your listings. Data show that buyers often base their decision to see a property in person on the "quality and presentation" of your listing photos, according to RISMedia's, Gar Benedick.

The data reveal that more photos translate into quicker sales. The days on market (DOM) for a piece of real estate with one photograph was 70; a DOM of 40 resulted with six photos, a DOM of 36 with 16-19 photos, and a DOM of 32 resulted with 20 photos.

Additionally, listings with one photo lost ~8.8% of their original price. Compare this to listings having six or more photos only loosing 5% of the original price and you will see how important and inexpensive photographs are in selling listings. Photos must have a professional quality to them; even consider having a professional snap them.

Taunya - I don't understand why more agents don't get it...  Quality photography makes a difference.  Thanks for sharing the stats.

Taunya, why Realtors would do one photo is beyond me. I always think there is a dirty water pool or a complete mess inside.
