The Holidays are a difficult time for those, especially children, who are without a home.
Since most of us are connected to housing in some way, please consider helping the homeless this winter.
Who is better qualified, more knowledgeable, and more involved in housing than a Realtor, a Lender, an Inspector, a Builder, a Title Agent ...?
HERE ARE SOME NATIONAL PROGRAMS (hardly exhaustive):
HomeBase San Francisco, California,
Homes for the Homeless New York, New York
Habitat for Humanity International Speaks for itself.
Stand Up for Kids Rescues homeless and at-risk youth living on the streets.
Family Promise provides shelter and services for families WITH children.
National Homelessness Links Links to programs in many states.
Volunteers of America 160 different programs that help people.
...AND MANY MORE...and in your area, too!

I like the fact that you use the words "this winter". Lets not let pull out the compassion wagon for the holiday, but extend through the entire winter season.
Too many have a warm heart for the holidays and then harden their hearts and close their wallets after the holidays are gone. The needs of the homeless continue all year round. I trust we'll make our doing and give about the homeless and not a badge we pin to our chest and say "look what I did".
Please also consider helping VETERANS. There is a massive number of returning combat Veterans with severe issues. Please click here to see the problems they are facing
