Montana hunting season is second to none in the lower 48 states. If you are big game aficionado, fall in Big Sky country is your paradise. Antelope season begins in mid August; deer and elk seasons are open through the end of November.
If you are looking for something a little more exotic, there are special lotteries for black bear, mountain lion, moose, big horn sheep, mountain goat and bison.

Archery: September 3: October 16
Two-Day Youth Hunt (Deer Only): October 20 and October 21
General Season: October 22 to November 27
Backcountry (HD's 150, 151, 280, 316)
Archery: September 3 to September 14
General: September 15 to November 27
Elk Shoulder Seasons: Varying dates before and/or after archery/general season.
