After significant Bozeman Creek restoration and upgrading and straightening of the access-road, the Sourdough Canyon Trailhead, 6 miles south of downtown Bozeman, MT, reopened Friday, October 21, 2011.
Work included an emergency vehicle turnaround, road-straightening, and restoration of portions of Bozeman Creek, aka Sourdough Creek.
In 2010 the Gallatin Valley Land Trust (GVLT) added 15 parking spaces and a vault toilet to Bozeman's most popular trailhead, aka the Bozeman Creek Trail.
This newest trail access work readies Bozeman's portal to the Gallatin Mountains for winter skiing, snowshoeing, and hiking.
